Clarence House, located at 4-10 May Street, Belfast, is a historic listed building that was constructed for the Church of Ireland Young Men’s Society in 1865-66 and designed by the architectural firm Lanyon, Lynn and Lanyon. Situated on the corner of May Street and Upper Arthur Street, it is approximately 50 meters from Donegall Square, placing it in close proximity to Belfast City Hall.

The building is a self-contained, ornate structure that underwent sympathetic refurbishment and extension around 2007, which included the addition of an extra floor. It offers approximately 10,400 square feet of office accommodation arranged over ground, first, and second floors, with lower ground floor storage and ancillary spaces. Additionally, it provides parking facilities for up to 12 vehicles or cycles.

In August 2024, it was revealed that Clarence House had been listed for sale with an asking price of £1.75 million. Alternatively, it is available for lease at an annual rent of £150,000.

In March 2025, Andras House Ltd submitted a retrospective planning application (LA04/2025/0414/F) which proposes a change of use from office (Use Class B1(a)) to a consulate building (sui generis) with no external or internal works. Earlier the same month, India officially opened the consulate, with India’s foreign minister Dr S Jaishankar speaking at its opening.
