2a Ventry Street, BT2 7JP
About Liquor XXX
2a Ventry Street is located in Belfast city centre, near Dublin Road. The site is in proximity to a previously established entertainment complex, which included venues such as Filthy McNastys, The Secret Garden, Filthy Chic, The Gypsy Lounge, and Liquor XXX.
The property at 2a Ventry Street had been operating as a commercial vehicle repair garage. Historically, it has housed businesses related to automotive servicing and repairs. Notably, Euro-Auto Service previously occupied the site, providing garage services.
The building was originally constructed between 1880 and 1900 and was initially used as a residential dwelling.
Over time, the property underwent structural modifications and was repurposed for commercial activities.
By 2013, records indicated that the building required refurbishment, aligning with its transition to non-residential use.
In November 2023, FMN Properties Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2023/4469/F) proposing to repurpose the existing garage into a public house. The development will include internal renovations and external modifications to support the change of use. This application was related to another planning application, a student accommodation development located at the previous Filthy Quarter complex. The proposed development at 2a Ventry Street was approved in February 2024.
In March 2025, it was revealed that Liquor XXX, a cocktail bar that was previously operating as part of the Filthy Quarter complex, is to open at 2a Ventry Street on the 14th March 2025.
