4 College Square North, BT1 6AR
About 4 College Square North
4 College Square North is currently a undeveloped strip of land that sits between a historic end terrace and a small area of landscaped amenity space along College Avenue. The site previously contained buildings which formed the end of the College Square North terrace, but Nos 1-4 were cleared to make way for road ‘improvements’ and widening as part of an inner ring in the 1970’s.
In March 2019, Queens Quarter Housing submitted a planning application (LA04/2019/0605/O) proposing the development of a four storey office building on the site. This application was approved in March 2021.
In November 2023, Queens Quarter Housing submitted a planning application (LA04/2023/4303/F) proposing the development of 4-5 storey hostel accommodation with 30 no bedrooms, associated shower/WC facilities, reception, luggage storage, bin store and cycle parking. This application was withdrawn in May 2024.
In July 2024, Justin Quirk, the co-owner of Urban HQ and the neighbouring Wilton House development, submitted a planning application (LA04/2024/0749/F) and listed building consent (LA04/2024/1206/LBC) proposing the development of 4-5 storey building for 9 no units to provide short stay accommodation, with ancillary bin/bike storage and external amenity space.
