In April 2019, Galgorm Properties submitted a planning application (LA04/2019/1100/F) seeking to develop a mixed use commercial and residential development which consists of 79 partments, 6 retail units, a gym and 67 car parking spaces. The scheme was named "Bellingham Place" by Galgorm Properties. This application was approved in June 2020.
In August 2020, McCormack Demolition commenced demolition work of the Kwik Fit garage.
By the end of 2023, tenants in the remaining section of the site began to vacate such as Peak Physique gym.

Z/2007/0087/O - Submitted in December 2006, this application sought to demolish the existing buildings on the sites and to develop a three storey development with retail units on the ground & first floors with ancillary storage/ offices on the second floor. 96-98 High Street is a three storey building that was built in 1935 as a furniture shop, Alex Sloan and Co. Ltd. The furniture shop closed in the early 1960s and was later occupied by the Ulster Sports Club in 1968. The Ulster Sports Club was founded in 1927 and was initially on Ann Street. The social club was originally men only, however women were allowed into the club in 1968. The Ulster Sports Club closed on 31st December 2018 due to failling membership numbers resulting in the social club becoming no longer financially viable.
