Description

The Paper Exchange is an 11 storey mixed use development that is currently under construction which includes ground floor retail with office accommodation on the upper floors.

The Paper Exchange has been designed by Wirefox and TODD Architects and is on the site of the previous Oxford and Gloucester House buildings, which were built in the 1970s.

Wirefox submitted a planning application (LA04/2017/2268/F) in 2017 seeking the demolition of the Oxford & Gloucester House buidlings and erection of 11 storey mixed use building which included basement car parking. The application was later amended by LA04/2019/0909/F and LA04/2019/2744/NMC which ultimately resulted in the removal of the basement level from the proposal and relocated services & car parking to the ground level.

Heron Bros were appointed to carry out he development, with works beginning on the site in February 2020. The development is expected to be completed in 2022.

Sections of the site which are now part of The Paper Exchange development were previously earmarked for separate developments. Plans were submitted (LA04/2015/0619/F) by Village Homes (NI) Ltd, TSA Planning and Like Architects for 43-47 Chichester Street to be developed into a residential building with 75 apartments in a development called The Matic.

The Paper Exchange completed in late 2022.
